Pistol Fundamentals

Students will receive:

- A review of and/or introduction to the basic concepts of pistol shooting

- An overview of general firearms safety, weapon disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly

- Instruction and drills designed to improve aiming, breathing, trigger control, grip and stance

- Instruction and drills for firing from various positions and obstacles (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone, one handed, moving, around barriers, etc.)

- Instruction and drills for misfire procedures (immediate and remedial)

- Instruction and drills for reloading procedures (speed, tactical, administrative)

- Instruction and drills for drawing from a holster or other concealed options

- Guidance on everyday carry of a pistol, accessories, attachments, and other equipment

Students will provide:

- Pistol

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds)

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended)

- Pistol AND Magazine Holster ***with a belt or some other mechanism to secure the holster to your person***

- Eye protection, Hearing protection

Rifle Fundamentals

Students will receive:

- A review of and/or introduction to the basic concepts of rifle shooting

- An overview of general firearms safety, weapon disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly

- Instruction and drills designed to improve aiming, breathing, trigger control, grip and stance

- Instruction and drills for firing from various positions and obstacles (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone, one handed, moving, around barriers, etc.)

- Instruction and drills for misfire procedures (immediate and remedial)

- Instruction and drills for reloading procedures (speed, tactical, administrative)

- Instruction and drills for proper use of slings, attachments, pressure pads, and other rifle accessories

- Guidance on kit/loadout design

Students will provide:

- Rifle

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds)

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended)

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Rifle Sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection

Individual Tactical Movement (Rifle/Pistol)***

Students will receive:

- Overview of individual movement techniques

- Instruction and drills on proper use of cover and concealment

- Instruction and drills on rates of fire and shooting to provide cover

- Instruction and drills on breaking contact from or maneuvering on an armed threat

- Instruction and drills on transitioning between different firing positions

Students will provide:

- Rifle

- Pistol

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds) for each platform

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended) for each platform

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

Team Tactical Movement (Rifle/Pistol)***

Students will receive:

- Overview of team movement techniques and concepts

- Instruction and drills on proper use of cover and concealment

- Instruction and drills on rates of fire and shooting to provide cover

- Instruction and drills on breaking contact from or maneuvering on an armed threat

- Instruction and drills on transitioning between different firing positions

Students will provide:

- Rifle

- Pistol

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds) for each platform

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended) for each platform

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Pistol AND Magazine Holster ***with a belt or some other mechanism to secure the holster to your person***

- Rifle Sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection

Low Light / No Light Conditions Shooting (Rifle/Pistol)

Students will receive:

- Rifle white light if not able to provide own (for use during course)

- Overview of low light / no light shooting fundamentals

- Instruction and drills on rapid engagements

- Instruction and drills on moving in low light / no light conditions

Students will provide:

- Rifle and/or Pistol

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds)

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended) for each platform (if applicable)

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Rifle Sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection

- Attached white light on rifle/pistol

- Night vision goggles, IR illuminator (optional)

Patrolling Techniques (Rifle)+++

Students will receive:

- AR-15 blank firing adapter, blank ammunition, rifle magazines (for use during course)

- Overview of Infantry tactics and doctrine

- Overview of movement formations, land navigation, rally points, and patrol base activities

- Battle Drills (react to contact, break contact, squad attack, etc) instruction and practical exercises

- Patrolling techniques and concepts practical exercises

Students will provide:

- AR-15 Rifle

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Rifle Sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection, Knee/Elbow pads (optional)

*This is not a live fire course. If a student displays competency and adherence to safety procedures they may be invited to a future course where live fire will be incorporated.*

Close Quarters Battle (CQB) / Man-made Structures (Rifle)***

Students will receive:

- Airsoft rifle/ammo or AR-15 blank firing adapter, blank ammunition, rifle magazines (for use during course)

- Overview of CQB tactics, concepts, and doctrines

- Instruction and drills on room entry, room clearing, and target identification procedures in a man-made structure (individual and team)

Students will provide:

- AR-15 Rifle

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Rifle sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection

*This course may be conducted off-site. This is not a live fire course. If a student displays competency and strict adherence to safety procedures they may be invited to a future course where live fire will be incorporated.*

Shooting Under Stress (Rifle/Pistol)+++

Students will receive:

- Various shooting scenarios incorporating physical fitness, marksmanship, weapons manipulation, and unknown variables

- Competitive structure

Students will provide:

- Rifle

- Pistol

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds) for each platform

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended) for each platform

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Pistol AND Magazine Holster ***with a belt or some other mechanism to secure the holster to your person***

- Rifle Sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection

- Knee/Elbow pads (optional)

Tactical Use of Communications (Rifle)***

Students will receive:

- Personal radio and other signaling devices (for use during course)

- Instruction on drills on tactical radio etiquette and procedures

- Incorporating communications equipment into various practical exercises from the CQB course, Tactical Movement course, and Patrolling Techniques courses.

Students will provide:

- Rifle

- Ammunition (100-200 rounds)

- Magazines (2 minimum, 4 recommended)

- Load bearing equipment (i.e. magazine pouches)

- Rifle Sling

- Eye protection, Hearing protection
